The European Entrepreneurial Region is a project that identifies and rewards EU regions and cities that show an extraordinarily entrepreneurial and innovative policy strategy, regardless of their size, wealth and competences.

The regions or municipalities that present the most credible, innovative and promising forward-looking plan are awarded the “European Entrepreneurial Region” (EER) label for a specific year..

Since its creation in 2010, the EER label has been awarded to 39 regions and cities in 17 EU Member States.

Famalicão, Friuli Venécia Juliana in Italy and the South Moravian Region and Brno in Czechia are the European Entrepreneurial Region territories in 2023.

Promoting innovative entrepreneurship in Europe is fundamental for the Union’s competitiveness, for moving towards green industries and sustainability, for the circular economy and for providing quality jobs and skills training for Europeans.
